Monday Morning “Impediment to Productivity” – 200511021

Hi,

Good morning, well that was a fun week.

New York Subway Art and it’s not graffiti. The art featured in this
collection was actually commissioned work. from designweblog

They have mosaics, stained glass ( Very Cool. Especially worth a look
is Animal Tracks by Naomi Campbell) and paintings. All we get in
Melbourne are ads.

The seemingly endless stream of Flash games continues. Lost Picture is a
wonderful little game from Tonypa. The object is to reveal the hidden
picture by finding the dots that connect its edges. The way you do that
is by sending the “probe” in a straight line, which will either run into
a dot and bounce off, or will reveal a red spot that indicates that a
dot is nearby. The more “probes” it takes you the fewer points you get.
Not an easy one but the sounds are really cute.

OneLook’s reverse dictionary lets you describe a concept and get back a
list of words and phrases related to that concept. Your description can
be a few words, a sentence, a question, or even just a single word. Just
type it into the box above and hit the “Find words” button. (Keep it
short to get the best results.) In most cases you’ll get back a list of
related terms with the best matches shown first. All sounds a bit
productive? Wait until you try it.

We haven’t done cats for a while. Check this out. I quote from Endgadget
“We all know the future isnt really about technology; in the end its
all about gadgets, automation, white bulbous plastic, and a few
whooshing noises here or there. Well, along those lines we have the
Litter-Robot, an automated litter sifter that disposes of the clumps 7
minutes after your cat does its business and leaves. It works by
rotating the round part of the unit until everything is separated by the
sifting screen, allowing the kitty doo-doo to land nice and neat into a
garbage bag that sits in a drawer in the bottom, leaving the kitty
litter clean and you labour free. We just hope your cat doesnt fall prey
to the belief that her litter box could turn into a swirling vortex of
doom at any time and end up avoiding the place altogether.”
Sort of says it all really. Can we have what these people are having?

I loved this ad the first time I saw it. 606 takes, can you imagine?
Check it out this version is 2 minutes long and and slightly different
to the one on the tele. Oh, and by the way, the tires actually going UP
is not an illusion, it is just cleverly placed weights. Enjoy.

Absurd isn’t it? Using the internet to watch a TV ad.

Go to Said the Gramophone http://www.saidthegramophone.com/ and Check
out The Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir. Link
They also have a sample at http://www.theagnostics.com/buried_them.mp3
With a name like that how can they miss.

Have a good week. Pop into the blog (
https://thatchspace.com/ )for the odd update during the
week. I added a page with a HowTo for installing AVG/Spybot/etc
https://thatchspace.com/wordpress/stop-malware/ and Jools
has uploaded the fourth part of her Vectors tutorial.
