Google Web Toolkit

Warning Geek Stuff.

This is being widely reported on about every second geek blog/list that I read.

But it is kinfd of important. Google has released the Google Web Toolkit (GWT).

It’s a Java software development framework that makes writing AJAX applications like ooh lets pull one or two out at random… say Google Maps and Gmail easy for people who cant recite all the browser hack codes from memory.

You write your front end in the Java programming language, and the GWT compiler converts your Java classes to browser-compliant JavaScript and HTML.

I knew that Java course I did would come in handy.

Hopefully this will make writing dynamic web applications less tedious and error-prone. And it looks like it chats with Eclipse, which is convenient as I just loaded it up on the Linux side of the laptop yesterday.
