Monday Morning “Impediment to Productivity” – 20061120

Hi,

Christmas is just down the track and I can see that some of you are wondering what to get the Goth in your life for the silly season. Well “The Graveyard Gothic Garden Terrarium Kit” by Dunecraft will help maintain their gothic sensibilities, and as a bonus has plants you can grow. that bleed. (I am not making this up). A bit of water and some sunlight (even Goths go out in the day) but this an indoor terrarium!

Now while we are visiting at the far end of the bell curve, over at CrabfuSteamworks website is a steampowered “mousetrap” game. This is one of those times that you wish YouTube used a higher resolution and bandwidth. But the stills give you a good idea of what’s going on. A Gloriously Pointless Impediment. Needless to say I want one.

And from just a bit further out on the curve is this video of “A pool filled with non-Newtonian fluid”. I saw this done with a swimming pool full of custard on a terrible English Mythbusters knockoff and it was the only thing on the show that raised a smile. These Spanish comedians used a cement mixer load of cornstarch and a big “Clark” pool. It’s still funny.

(Jamie and Adam would have done it better)

Flash Game Time ? Quite simply Asteriods meets Missle Command (if neither of those mames don’t mean anything to you. What did you do with your childhood???). This is a time soak, I repeat this is a huge time soak.. One more time this is a ginormous time soak. Oh what’s the use. Don’t Die

Su Blackwell makes amazing sculptures from books, I am trifle unsure about cutting up books at the best of times but make up your own mind and have a look at http://www.sublackwell.co.uk/bookcut/index.htm
My Favourite is one of the Alice pieces.

This has been around the traps so many times I am amazed that there are still people who haven’t seen it. It was mentioned three times in diverse places this week so I figured I would give it an outing.
What is it? The ASCII Starwars Animation of course. use the fast forward Luke
