Sizer (Website Tool)

Write web pages at all?

Well If you do, over at Brian Apps there is a killer (freeware!) app for web designers who are curious about knowing how their users will see their sites in 800×600 and 1024×768 maximized browser windows.

Sizer is extremely useful when designing web pages, as it allows you to see how the page will look when viewed at a smaller size and is also handy when compiling screen-shots for documentation (you remember documentation… it’s the manual no one ever reads), using Sizer allows you to easily maintain the same window size across screen grabs.

Sizer has three ways of letting you resize a window: a shell extension lets you resize a window from its main menu, there is a taskbar tray item to resize any window, and lastly, a popout menu from the resizing grabbable area of window corners.

Checkout the Sizer website and you will see how this all works.

Now I will be honest and say that my first thought was “as I already have the Web Developer Extension installed in my Firefox browser with its comprehensive range of web developer tools, I wont really need this”. Then the penny dropped. This is the perfect solution for that OTHER browser and Opera.

Needless to say I downloaded and installed it (all 73k of it). It’s great.
