How many passwords do you have? Lots and I’ll bet it’s getting worse. Every e-commerce and community sites that want us to create accounts? (Yep even here if you want to leave a comment… another password). Do you end up using the same password at all of them and then feel stupid knowing that one oops and all your accounts are 0wn3d?
Well here is a cute (and I mean really cute ) solution. The Password generator by Nic Wolff, a Perl coder from New York City. So, how does it work?
Well you type in your LONG (more than 8 characters) master password into the the Master Password Field, next paste the URL or the site name into the sitename and press generate. Bingo you have an encrypted password that is different for ever site and you only have to remember one password. Cool huh.
Now are you a bit paranoid about having a website know your password ( better late than never ). Saver this page to your desktop or better yet your USB memory thingy (that’s a technical term) and use it from there.
Seriously if you are consistent with the site name convention, always use the URL for the login screen. This will work a treat.
