Monday Morning “Impediment to Productivity” – 20060515

Hi,
This will be kind of fun.
Now what do John Malkovich, Naomi Campbell, Antoine Fuqua (he did King Arhur a year or two back) and an open wallet have in common? Well stroll over to the Pirelli Film site and you can find out but (there always seems to be one of those buts just lurking around don’t there) if you go over to Advertising Age’s website, you can read about what pundit (Bob Garfield) thinks and he is not a happy camper.

To summarise
A: Watch the Pirelli Film (about 10mins)… then read the scathing review (Skip over the chevy bit)
B: Read scathing review then watch the film

It’s like one of those “Choose the ending” adventure game books from along time ago in a childhood far away.
So what’s it gonna be? A: or B:?

“Quite the three piper eh Watson?”

Warning: If you don’t have scads of high quality bandwidth lying around it’sprobably best to stick with medium and squint a bit. Turn up the volume and tell the boss it’s market research.

Keeping on with cars and movies, doesn’t this photo remind you of the Matrix? The photos are of Volkswagen’s new car storage facility in Wolfsburg, Germany. When you collect your nice shiny new VW , your new car is brought down to you from one of the 20-story Car Towers. Large signboards in the Customer Center show you when your turn has come. Then, you’re handed the keys, your picture is taken, the glass doors open and your brand-new car appears. Maybe it’s more game show than movie?

Flash Game time. And this is a doozy. The deal is you have to move the little “droid” as far as you can across a field of spikes. How do you move? The same way Spiderman does, you spit a string at the ceiling and swing of course. Pendulumeca is a great Impediment to Productivity and sanity as well.

So it’s Monday morning, a heavy weekend, and now you want something to just fill the time in until it’s Tuesday. Wrong palce to look here. It’s Moral Dilemma time.
Over at the BBC there is a collection of them. Here is a sample.
THE CAVE EXPLORERS
An enormous rock falls and blocks the exit of a cave you and five other tourists have been exploring. Fortunately, you spot a hole elsewhere and decide to let “Big Jack” out first. But Big Jack, a man of generous proportions, gets stuck in the hole. He cannot be moved and there is no other way out. The high tide is rising and, unless you get out soon, everyone but Big Jack (whose head is sticking out of the cave) will inevitably drown.

Searching through your backpack, you find a stick of dynamite. It will not move the rock, but will certainly blast Big Jack out of the hole. Big Jack, anticipating your thoughts, pleads for his life. He does not want to die, but neither do you and your four companions. Should you blast Big Jack out? If the roles were reversed, what would you advise your trapped companions to do? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4954856.stm
