Monday Morning “Impediment to Productivity” – 20060710

Hi,

Here to start the week is a further missive from Phillip.
“A flock of a million starlings = UK school-kids playing truant!
Memeplex – a place where only I can go to talk to Me, about Me, with Me?
Currently listening to:
Some old biddy whingin’ on about the cost of elastic stockings and Fibrogel so can we please refund her bank charges?
(Those of you with a betting nature can start the odds as 1000 to 1 that I’ll agree; those who know that the milk of human kindness long ago turned to sour bitter sap within these saggy paps will know the outcome!)

What no manic laughter and organ music this time? Where are your standards?

This was from Jools
“I thought this might make suitable impedimentia.

Extreme Ironing? This is very funny, or maybe it’s just me.

Star Trek got a comet , JK Rowling scored a dinosaur.
A dragon-like dinosaur named after Harry Potter’s alma mater has performed a bit of black magic on its own family tree, say paleontologists who unveiled the “Dragon King of Hogwarts” recently in Albuquerque. The newly described horny-headed dinosaur Dracorex hogwartsia lived about 66 million years ago in South Dakota, just a million years short of the extinction of all dinosaurs. But its flat, almost storybook-style dragon head has overturned everything paleontologists thought they knew about the dome-head dinos called pachycephalosaurs.
J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, has been notified and apparently rather likes the new name.
“I am absolutely thrilled to think that Hogwarts has made a small claw mark upon the fascinating world of dinosaurs,” said Rowling, according to a museum press release. “I happen to know more on the subject of paleontology than many might credit, because my eldest daughter was Utahraptor-obsessed and I am now living with a passionate Tyrannosaurus rex-lover, aged three.
“My credibility has soared within my science-loving family, and I am very much looking forward to reading Dr. Bakker and his colleague’s paper describing ‘my’ dinosaur.”

This was from Terri.
“Hi Thatch,

It’s very interesting and became somewhat of an impediment to my (what day is it ?) morning :o)

It sort of like watching your bank balance go down as the petrol pump goes up.

Flash Game Time: We haven’t done a space shooter for a while , this one features 8 bit blocky graphics and seriously fast action. You play as one of the Gamma Bros. who must destroy an endless stream of UFOs that invade from every direction. Use the arrow keys to move your craft around and the WASD keys to fire in four cardinal directions. When your energy gets depleted, running into your brother will swap your ships, tag-team-style. Silly as all get out.

All of the music stuff is now over at our (Jools and Ian are contributors as well) new project

Now don’t forget the to pop into the blog ( https://thatchspace.com/ ) for the odd update during the week.
